MY HOA WAR...I was the bad guy for helping weaker folks fight the board , so I had a big target on me by now...One of them had the cops do a swat thing to me...We could not prove it but the cops knew they did it and took my side...NOW when i did fireworks or rode my dirt bike and they called the cops...the cops took their sweet time.AND never bothered me...

MY HOA WAR.....I saw one of the board members busting kids finds for riding their bikes on the side walks..WELL WELL I saw other board members crossing sidewalks while RIDING bikes...I hid and took many pictures...MANY....soooo at the next board meeting I gave the pictures to the kids parents and told them make the board member pay the fines too..

I LOVED WAR WITH MY HOA....first fun battle...they busted me for my work truck..the 2 inch letters were unsightly....OK ...i bought a big old rusted cadillac holes and ripped up vinyl top...I made it look ''better'' by spray painting parts in pink and red...It ran and had a legal tag. they were helpless to do anything to me.

As you read HB 1203 it clearly stated that a personal vehicle with lettering or signage cannot be prohibited. Most vehicles as described are company owned therefore not personal. Even if the owner of the vehicle is also the owner of the home where it is parked the vehicle will most likely be technically owned by the company therefore it’s not personal.

The problem of the comment “Within Reason” Is where the problem lies. What’s reasonable to me may not be reasonable to someone else. When it comes to things in the backyard that they can’t see from the street is usually visible to your neighbors. If you are storing tons of junk because you like the junk it may affect the resale of your neighbors house. Rules were developed most of the time to protect against the knuckleheads in our society. There aren’t many of them but they are a pain.

Can’t stand HOAs. They are just busy bodies going way beyond what they were supposed to be. They send letters about grass in February! What am I supposed to do in February? Can’t even buy sod because it would die. Can’t plant seed because it will die. They currently want me to paint the garage door which is perfect white paint and always has been.

Our HOA is basically useless. There are unrestrained sales to companies turning home into rental properties where we are seeing Group Homes emerging: Across from my home there are often 6 or more cars parked so basically 6 people staying there. There are several Group Homes in our development and I’ve heard from other homeowners that’s a growing trend. One tenant pulled the wheels off his truck on the street in front of of the home and left it unattended over a day.

What I see a lot and think is dangerous for everyone is people fishing on the beach with people swimming.

Why are you riding a bike on the sidewalk? The state spends millions for bike lanes and to make the laws so bikes are to be used like cars with the exception of the 3’ safe barrier.

HOA seems to be power-hungry tyrants often called HOA Nazis. Several video satire comedies on Facebook are great for laughing at these silly clowns pushing people's buttons at home.

This is my thing. What does it matter if I wear a mask or not? If your wearing a mask then you should be protected, why does it matter if I have one on. That crap never made any sense to me from the start. Just don’t buy in an HOA community

So in Louisiana I have found a way to remove the old thing where you were forced to join a HOA if you buy a house in a neighborhood that has a HOA. The HOA must pay for road maintenance and sewerage maintenance plus have a gate that blocks access from the public from entering the neighborhood. That makes the neighborhood HOA more of a club and not a true community HOA. I bought a house in a neighborhood with a HOA but it didn’t have any culbhouse or a pool and it was open to the public and the city was responsible for the maintenance of the street and sewerage system so according to state laws it was not required to join the HOA when I bought the house. I sued the HOA to make it close down because it was not offering anything for the money that was being charged and I won the suit.

Rule #1 when house hunting. DON'T BUY IN A HOA NEIGHBORHOOD! Great neighborhoods do exist outside that madness.
